Dracula and Other Love Stories

Ohio Dance Theatre premiers two new works with a program that will delight the senses and stir the soul. The company demonstrates its athleticism and artistic range with an evening of romance and love.
This exciting evening of high drama, expressive dance and timeless music includes a preview of the Dracula premier slated for Ohio Dance Theatre’s 20th anniversary Fall 2012; the sensual new work by Choreographer, Lisa Lock, The Dream; an excerpt from Ohio Dance Theatre’s bold interpretation of the world’s most popular opera, Carmen and the premiere of Beyond Courage; The Sacrifices of 1941-1945. Utilizing the extraordinary musical score of Pulitzer Prize Winner, composer Stephen Melillo, this premiere brings to the audience an appreciation of that which was survived and lost in the not-too-distant past summed up in the phrase, Bataan Death March.
Performance includes a special performance by guest artists from CREDO Chamber Music String Quintet

***Credo Chamber Music is a catalytic, non-profit organization that serves the developmental needs of gifted, young, classical musicians. Credo encourages students to reach their highest potential musically, spiritually, and in service to others. The Oberlin Conservatory is home to Credo’s flagship program, a three-week program of intensive chamber music study and performance. This year’s program runs from July 1-21, and concludes with a gala concert on July 21 featuring a full orchestra at Severance Hall.
